Before I met her, I felt truly done with science. I would always dread walking into my science classes knowing I would struggle, until I entered Ms. Garcia's classroom. She was as bright as neon. Every day, she would always greet me with a bright smile on her face. She opened my eyes to a new type of learning. Her interactive activities always made me excited to go to her class, wondering, what fun activity has she planned for us next? The way she taught us and thought about the different new ways to get us involved in learning always made me eager to participate, which I never did in the past. I was always too shy to participate in class, but in Ms. Garcia's, I felt like I could be myself. I never felt judged around her and I was always comfortable in her presence. Asking questions used to be hard for me as I was too scared, but Ms. Garcia was always ready to answer and never made me feel bad about my questions. She always encouraged us and pushed us harder, making me a confident person by the end of the year. Ms. Garcia was very supportive and helpful in so many ways, giving me a sense of hope. I’m grateful to call her my 7th grade science teacher.
