As a single mother, we depend on our children’s village to support us in what is best for them. As the year progressed, I’ve learned to appreciate the silent yet impactful way she has supported my daughter. I’ve seen Tyler grow with her self esteem in Math as well as her social skills. And how I know it’s not just her maturing…because behind every positive or constructive redirection is followed by “…because Ms Bolds said/did.” The stigma of missing parent/teacher meetings used to be met with judgmental comments but with Miss Bolds it’s different. This is the first time I felt grace as a parent and I appreciate her. From her consistency in her standards and expectations of her students to ability to meet these adolescents (enough said) is more reason she is deserving of every recognition and award.
