TONI QUALLS
ROBERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
An Outlet
A majority of teachers are presumed not to leave a lasting impact on one’s persona; but what is it like when they do? Ms. Qualls served as my comfort teacher throughout a majority of last year, and with reason. Ms. Qualls was an amazing RLA teacher because she truly understood what I was going through and always took the time to listen. She made class exciting by using humor and creating a comfortable environment where I could truly be myself around her. I enjoyed coming to her class because learning felt less stressful, which made me feel more comfortable and focused.
When I was struggling or feeling stuck, Ms. Qualls was patient like an idle passage waiting for me to continue reading. She never rushed me and listened intently when I needed to vent, which showed how much she genuinely cared. Inside the classroom, she helped me become a better and more confident student by encouraging me and helping me improve my writing. There was a stark memory from a point in time last year, where she gave me a specific boost of confidence when I felt insecure about my quality of writing. Outside of class, she supported me by being someone I could trust and talk to when I needed it. Thank you, Ms. Qualls, for your patience, kindness, and for the positive impact you had on me as a student.
