Dr.Etienne, a science department chair and teacher, goes up and beyond to give the best education for her students. She sacrifices the time out of her day to tutor students who struggle to grasp topics. Hearing about her firsthand accounts and professional experiences is something I always look forward to because it makes me understand the subject on a deeper level. I’ve always been a student who loves to learn through real world applications, no matter what the subject is, especially from someone who has experienced them. When completing an assessment, quiz, laboratory, or classwork she goes out of her way to provide the best feedback for all her students. She provides online resources that enhance a student’s understanding of a certain topic they are struggling with. A past memory that constantly replays in my head was when I felt as though I was not performing well on assessments. I shared my thoughts and she comforted me, telling me that the grades I’m getting are up to standard, and if I really wanted to achieve high scores on assessments then I should use the online resources and try different studying methods. Dr.Etienne encourages me to strive in my extracurriculars, advising me how they can serve as a healthy way to relieve stress.
