Since my daughter, Ma’Ryah, joined North Central in the Paces program, we have witnessed tremendous growth — not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. That growth is a direct reflection of Ms. Smith’s dedication, heart, and intentional leadership. Before transitioning to North Central, change felt overwhelming. But under Ms. Smith’s guidance, Ma’Ryah has truly flourished. She looks forward to going to school each day with excitement and confidence. She has developed a stronger understanding of her daily schedule, navigates transitions more independently, and continues to build life skills that are preparing her for greater independence in the future. What sets Ms. Smith apart is not only her professionalism, but her compassion. She is highly communicative, consistently keeping us informed and connected to what’s happening in the classroom. She shares special moments — the small wins, the breakthroughs, the joyful interactions — that mean everything to us as parents. Those updates remind us that Ma’Ryah is not just present at school, but truly seen and valued. Ms. Smith is also a fierce advocate. She ensures Ma’Ryah has the support, accommodations, and encouragement she needs to succeed.
