Coach Rivas is someone who cares and wants to see his students be successful in the wrestling field. He pushes you to the limits, he may seem harsh but he does not mean it. He pushes you to become a successful athlete on the mat. Things he does to make the class exciting is when we play games on the mat. He can switch between a very serious coach to a fun and active coach. Him giving you prep and pep talks is a way that he cares. He gets on us about our grades but that is because he wants us to be responsible and able to compete on the team. He only wants us to be successful in every way possible. Definitely when he recognizes out hard work, he will compliment your wrestling and receiving that from your head coach definitely brings your confidence up. Even in real matches he will yell anything to help you and win. Inside the classroom is definitely a more hard working athlete, and outside a more aware and self disciplined young adult. I thank him for teaching me how to become a young hard working athlete.
