Ms. Hayden is nothing short of an excellent educator. Ms. Hayden set the tone with high expectations for her students. She is clear in her communication and she has provided the most academic rigor that we have experienced in elementary school thus far. The style of teaching she utilizes recognizes the needs and strengths of individual students. I have never seen a teacher have so much individual knowledge of each student and tailor her style to fit the need of each child. From the perspective of a parent she has been able to share with me the importance of a growth mindset in learning. My son has exuded the most confidence he has ever shown in an academic setting. He shared with me that he believes Ms. Hayden listens to him and he feels heard. This has helped his social emotional growth immensely. Ms. Hayden has worked in partnership with me as a parent, she has had tough conversations with my son but she built a rapport with him to earn his trust so he understood her feedback was from a place of encouragement. Ms. Hayden has a strength based approach with her classroom and it shows. My son has gained confidence in his reading and writing which were once subjects that he avoided. He now comes home and asks to read to me and finds fun in writing me notes. I am truly thankful we have had this opportunity to learn from one of the best 3rd grade teachers!
