My teacher, Mr. Coleman, is awesome because he makes history interesting and enjoyable instead of boring or stressful. He has a chill, relaxed teaching style that makes the classroom feel comfortable and welcoming. I actually look forward to his class because he explains things clearly, connects history to real life, and doesn’t make us feel afraid to ask questions or make mistakes. Mr. Coleman shows that he cares about his students by being patient, respectful, and understanding. If someone doesn’t understand something, he takes the time to break it down and go over it again. He listens to us, checks on how we’re doing, and treats us like real people, not just students in a desk. You can tell he wants us to do well, not just on tests, but in general. He makes me a better and more confident student by encouraging me to think for myself and speak up in class. Because he creates a low-pressure environment, I feel more comfortable participating and sharing my ideas. When I get something wrong, he helpfully corrects me instead of making me feel bad, which helps me learn and build confidence. Inside the classroom, he supports us by keeping the workload fair, explaining assignments clearly, and giving us the help we need to succeed. Outside the classroom, he’s someone you can say hi to in the hallway and feel comfortable talking to. Knowing that he’s chill, understanding, and really wants us to learn makes a big difference and is why I think he deserves to be honored.
