Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
SHANISHA BOND
CLEARWATER ELEMENTARY
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
Miss Bond is such a dose of reality when it comes to kindergarten. I used to be a teacher and you couldn’t pay me to teach kindergarten. I feel like it’s the hardest grade, but she handles kindergarten with such class, dignity and structure that by the end of the year, she creates the most amazing children that strive for greatness and have a love for learning. I will scream from the rooftops that the structure and firm guidance that she provides in kindergarten gives the foundation that is needed to be successful in the remainder of the Clearwater building or any school. She is going to shoot it straight from the hip with no chaser, but that is what I will always respect about her. This year I am not blessed to have a kiddo in her class although I have fingers crossed for next year. But she is still present in my kindergartners life, and they are still the best of friends, she’s still provides her with any additional support she needs while she’s at school. It is hard to find teachers that care and show up to work every day to make a difference, but she is one of those teachers and the kindergarten team is truly lucky to have her in the team, and I hope they never move her again because the structure and foundation she provides to students stating their educational journey is critical to the success of a child’s education.
