STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
My best year ever was in 2nd grade with my favorite teacher Mrs. Burgess! She is my favorite teacher because she is so helpful when I have problems come up and also she had us do all these fun projects. One time she assigned us to make a pumpkin that had a book character on it. When we got done with it we had to present it to the class. I made Madeline! But I think a kid that did Pete the cat did the best. When problems came up she called us over and told us that the whole class is a family and we should all be nice to each other! I still use that advice when more problems come up. To help our class behave she would have a clip chart. If you clipped 5 times then you would get a new colored clip. I got gold which is the second color to the max. When we were outside of the classroom like recess or instructional break she would let us talk to her about our weekend or something we did that was fun! Finally, she showed that she cared about our feelings by letting us go into the library and snuggle a teddy and filled up our classroom jar with pom poms if we did something amazing and if we behaved. Those are the reasons why Mrs. Burgess is my favorite teacher!
