Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
REGINA GRAYSON
REDLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL

STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

I am honored to nominate Mrs. Grayson for the Life Changing Teacher Award because she truly changed the direction of my life. I met Mrs. Grayson in my 6th grade year when I was in the EBD program. During a time when many people saw my struggles and doubted my abilities, Mrs. Grayson saw something completely different she saw my potential. She believed in me when I didn’t always believe in myself. Mrs. Grayson pushed me to rise above the limitations others placed on me. She encouraged me to work hard, grow, and eventually transition out of the EBD program and into the general education environment. That was not easy, but she never stopped challenging me to be my best. Now, I am in 8th grade taking advanced high school classes something I once never imagined for myself. That transformation did not happen by accident. It happened because Mrs. Grayson refused to let me settle for less than what I was capable of. Even though I am no longer in the EBD program, Mrs. Grayson still checks in on me to make sure I am maintaining the high standards she helped me set. She continues to hold me accountable, support me, and remind me of my strength. Mrs. Grayson didn’t just teach me academics she changed my mindset, my confidence, and my future. That is what makes her a truly life-changing teacher.
