An awesome teacher is made up of many things. To me, it's their passion, their willingness to help, and their kindness. Mrs. Denning, my AP Stats teacher, excels in all of these. AP Statistics generally is a harder class, as it has many things to remember and topics that connect. I wouldn't have done as well as I have if it hadn't been her, as I see her limitless passion for teaching. She goes out of her way to make sure she's doing her best, as I sometimes see her checking in with other teachers in the mornings to talk about ways to teach a topic and to answer even some of the hardest questions asked in class. Even then, she'll always get back to you. She nurtures curiosity and employs us to expand upon our questions and thoughts, so we can succeed greater. She tries to make every lesson fun and she does really well, because she utilizes resources and does interactive lessons that are really fun and connect me with my classmates. I can confidently say that she has indirectly helped me make many friends through these fun lessons. Even outside of AP Stats, she is maybe the nicest person I've ever met. I've never in my life met a person with a constant smile and infectious happiness until she became my teacher. Even in the worst of times, she will go out of her way to make sure she brings others up by always being kind and happy. I've never once seen her in a negative mood, really. I student help her with her first period, which is a group of geometry students. They are pretty crazy, admittedly, but Mrs. Denning sees their spark and nurtures that. Sometimes when they get distracted and even are louder than her, she somehow gets their attention with just a few words and a smile. It's like magic!! There have been some days were I felt like I just couldn't make it through the day. Whatever the issue was, or even when I was at my absolute lowest, Mrs. Denning noticed and did what she could to make me feel better. I genuinely don't think I would be where I am today without her. My outlook on life has changed, and I feel more confident and happy. After spending a semester in her class, all I want to do now is to make others happy. I feel like I can attribute this to her, the best teacher ever! Mrs. Denning is a teacher who cares and I am forever grateful to her for that. I don't think I'll ever meet a teacher as awesome as her.
