Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
RACHEL DENNING
NORTH CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
Since I was a small kid, around when I started school for the first time in WTS, the first and only thing I've ever struggled in was Math, I was almost at risk at failing because I was not the best on it. I tried my hardest to understand every single step but it just couldn't stick with me, I was lucky enough to have made it to Junior year. When I entered Sophmore year and I heard the word Geometry, I knew I would've probably failed, but once I started going to class. The first thing I noticed is how happy and energetic Mrs. Denning was, and still is. I knew that I would probably have a good semester with help, she made me feel like I could be myself and to also work harder. She taught me that if I work hard enough I could have a good benefit. She made everything seem more understanding and easy than any other teacher I've had in Math. She helped me and others to be motivated even if it didn't seem like it, and made me feel like I could try my best and not feel ashamed about it, and I know it may seem that "its not that serious" type of comments, but I personally feel like she helped me grow into a person that can understand that its okay to try your best. And I couldn't be grateful for her to help me in Math and as a person I came to be.
