I am honored to nominate Miss Nayeli Aguilar, the art teacher at Benneke Elementary, for her outstanding dedication and impact on her students. My son, currently in second grade, has flourished under her guidance and has achieved remarkable success in art competitions. Under Miss Aguilar’s mentorship, he made history by winning the Houston Rodeo art contest as a kindergartner—the first student from Benneke Elementary to ever accomplish this feat. He has continued to excel, winning again in second grade, and his artwork will once again be featured at the Houston Rodeo. Miss Aguilar has an extraordinary ability to recognize and nurture each student’s potential. She brings out the very best in my son, fostering his creativity, confidence, and artistic growth. Her influence was so significant that, when given the opportunity to transfer my children to a school closer to my work, I chose to keep my son at Benneke specifically to continue learning under Miss Aguilar’s guidance. She is highly communicative, supportive, and goes above and beyond for every student, personally celebrating their accomplishments and encouraging their continued growth. Miss Aguilar’s commitment, mentorship, and genuine care have profoundly impacted my son, and we are truly grateful for her dedication. She is not only deserving of recognition but is a teacher who inspires both students and parents alike.
