I would like to nominate Ms. Martinez, a truly passionate and dedicated teacher at Guy Elementary. Although she was my son Alex’s kindergarten teacher last year, the impact she had on him continues to this day. During his time in Ms. Martinez’s classroom, Alex gained tremendous confidence and learned how to read, strengthened his social skills, and developed a genuine love for learning. He is now performing in the 80th percentile in both reading and math. At home, he is constantly sharing new facts and things he has learned, many of which surprise our entire family. Ms. Martinez creates a warm and welcoming environment where learning is both fun and meaningful. She makes her students feel supported, curious, and excited to learn, and her care, enthusiasm, and dedication leave a lasting impact well beyond the school year. Our family is incredibly grateful for the foundation she gave our son.
