Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
MARJORIE HESSLER
CROOKED CREEK ELEMENTARY
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
It is hard to put into words the gift Mrs. Hessler is to Crooked Creek but especially to our family. We had the pleasure of our older daughter having Mrs. Hessler in 5th grade and were excited as she would be returning to 5th grade this school year.
Our son, William, is sweet, kind, bright and can be a handful. He is full of ideas, energy and often times is impulsive, lacks a filter and struggles with emotional intelligence and regulation.
Mrs. Hessler stepped into this school year and full embraced him as an individual. She understood and elevated his gifts while refining areas that need growth. For the first time in a long time, he LOVES to go school. When we had snow days earlier this year, he was so disappointed because he really wanted to go to school. This is a huge breakthough for him! He's shared that, "Mrs. Hessler likes me!" This has been a huge confidence booster for him to have a teacher who truly enjoys him and sees his gifts. 5th grade has been nothing short of amazing. We are grateful to be able to end our time at Crooked Creek with Mrs. Hessler on this positive note. Although, he is anxious for middle schools and wishes Mrs. Hessler could come with him, he is feeling confidence and prepared thanks to her love and care for him.
We must also shout out the many admins from Mrs. Parquet, Mrs. Outtara, Mr. Newson, Ms. Lambert, Ms. Reynolds and more who have given him chance after chance and have worked with him for 6 years. All that work is paying off and Mrs. Hessler has been exactly what we needed this school year. We are grateful for her-she has been like the missing piece we needed and now the puzzle is complete.
Thank you, Mrs. Hessler!
Love,
The Waymans
