Ms. Kapileo made my math experience in her class one to remember. I’ve never really felt great at math, and I can’t say that I wonderful at it today, but what I do know is that I felt supported and I felt that my success mattered. There were many times I didn’t understand the questions or understand WHAT was being asked in the problem and would give up, but Ms. Kap would sit right next to me in our group and make sure I knew what to do, step by step. She’d even go as far as speaking bilingual to assist me. The biggest take away from her class was feeling supported and knowing that someone truly believed in me to be better, and knew that I could, and I now know that I am capable of more by applying myself and never giving up. She taught me that. I was very lucky to have Ms. Kap because not every teacher I’ve had has cared or had put as much effort into my learning that her. Thank you Ms. Kap for being an AMAZING teacher!
