Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
MARGOT BOYER
SPRING MILL ELEMENTARY
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
Miss Boyer is a natural. We knew this when our son was in her class last school year, so we were thrilled when our daughter was placed in her class this year! Both of my kids have adored Miss Boyer from the first day. She has a way of being loving and completely approachable to her kiddos while also having very high expectations of them in terms of listening, behavior and learning.
She has taught both of my kids how to read, and they are thriving. It makes my husband and I so happy to see our kids so happy at school and so excited to come home and show us what they have learned. Both of my kids having had Miss Boyer as their Kindergarten teacher now have a love for learning and for school that really started with her!
Miss Boyer is in tune with the kids in her class and it is very easy to see that she knows their different needs and knows how to help them succeed.
She has boosted our daughters confidence in a very real way. Our daughter tends to be more shy and submissive, especially in a school setting. But that is changing and she has really come out of her shell. She has learned SO MUCH this year, its remarkable.
Miss Boyer is always coming up with creative ways to meet the needs of her kids. One example is the “Quiet Corner” she designed in the classroom. It’s a soft, quiet, relaxing, cozy and inviting space that the kids can utilize when they need a minute to re-set or take a break. What a great space to create for 5/6 year olds who are still adjusting to longer school days, still dealing with big feelings, etc.
I cannot say enough good things about Miss Boyer. This is only her 2nd year of teaching and it seems like she’s been doing it for a decade. She truly is a natural and you can tell she is dedicated to her profession. We are so thankful for her!
