Ms. Franklin-Nettles is truly an amazing teacher who goes above and beyond for her students. What stands out the most is how she treats every student with the same level of respect, care and attention. She doesn’t show favoritism instead, she makes every child feel like they matter. To her, all of her students are equally important and that is something my son, Leonardo, has truly felt. As a parent, that means everything to me. Leonardo has never felt left out, overlooked or invisible in her class. Instead, he feels supported, encouraged and confident. She creates a safe and welcoming environment where students feel comfortable being themselves and asking for help when they need it. Ms. Franklin-Nettles also goes the extra mile when it comes to communication. Anytime I have reached out, even late in the evening she responds quickly, often within hours or by the next morning. I know how demanding a teacher’s schedule is, especially in middle school, so the fact that she takes the time to respond and stay connected with parents truly shows her dedication and heart. She is always willing to take the time to discuss Leonardo’s progress, help him stay on track with his work and offer support when needed. She even makes herself available for extra help after school, which shows how committed she is to her students’ success. Because of her, Leonardo feels more confident as a student and more motivated to do well. She doesn’t just teach environmental science she teaches responsibility, confidence and respect. I am incredibly grateful to have a teacher like Ms. Franklin-Nettles. She is making a real difference, not just in the classroom, but in her students’ lives.
