Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
MADISON THOMSEN
NEIL C TWITCHELL ELEMENTARY
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
For my teacher I picked Ms. Thomsen. She changed my life a lot and helped me mentally and physically and really helped me a huge amount.
Ms. Thomsen was my 3rd grade teacher and now she is a 5th grade teacher. Before I used to bite my fingers and they were really bad and I could not stop biting my fingers. It was a habit, A BAD HABIT. Ms. Thomsen saw me biting my fingers and she really cared about it. She got me a thing to bite on which helped. But I lost it so she told me when I bit to stop and in a couple months I stopped biting them and they looked way better.
Another thing Ms. Thomsen helped me with was my anger. When our table team lost I would get frustrated and get angry. So she always told me to be calm and was really nice to me. Now I do not get angry much anymore and I feel really good.
She also did fun things for everyone in the class. Like whenever we got a token she would let us pull 1 stick from a Ker-Plunk in our class room and when all the marbles fell whichever of the 4 slots had the most marbles we would get the prize that was for that slot. Like donuts, or extra recess. And every day after recess she would read a chapter or 2 of a book every day and continue until we finished. And when we finished we would watch the movie, Always Amazing.
Ms. Thomsen always supported me and helped me so much physically and mentally and making every day a good day. She also made it really fun and made me happy every day I woke up. She makes me want her for my homeroom teacher and if I get her I would be really happy. Thank you so much Ms. Thomsen you are such a good, nice, helpful, amazing, wonderful person. The End
