LATEASHA SEALS
MAGILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

Ms. Seals was my daughter's second grade teacher. Aubri struggled with math. She just wouldn't get it. It was rough. She was below grade level and I felt defeated. I had no idea how to get her to understand this new way of math. This new math was not the way we did math in my day. 😉 I reached out to Ms. Seals for help with homework and she would help ANYTIME. Any questions or concerns I had she took the time to explain it to me so I could help Aubri at home. Ms. Seals, sent me videos after hours, using a whiteboard to show ME how to do the math, so we were both teaching the same way, to keep down confusion. Ms. Seals would tell Aubri everyday that she could do it and to keep working hard. I saw Aubri gain so much confidence. She would tell me after-school how she understood something and made a good grade. Whenever I asked of Ms. Seals for assistance, she never had an attitude, always polite and kind. As a parent I couldn't ask for a better teacher, she helped us get through this journey every step of the way. These years are the most important and I'm so very grateful for Ms. Seals. By the end of the year, Aubri was on grade level in math. I finally felt like we would be okay. She had conquered a big task. Of course, we still have difficulties but she remembers what Ms. Seals told her, if I try my best, I can do! Brandi Rudison
