Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
LASTELL BANKS
TWIN CREEKS MIDDLE SCHOOL
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
My teacher, Ms. Banks, is awesome because she always makes our classroom feel like a safe and welcoming place. From the moment class starts, she greets us with a smile and a positive attitude that makes everyone feel comfortable. She never makes anyone feel bad for asking questions or needing help. Instead, she encourages us and reminds us that learning is a process. Her kindness makes it easier to come to school every day because we know she truly cares about how we’re doing.
Another reason she is so great is that she is really smart and knows how to explain things in a way that actually makes sense. Even when we are learning something difficult, she breaks it down step by step so we don’t feel overwhelmed. She uses examples, stories, and different activities to help us understand the material. If someone is struggling, she will take extra time to go over it again until they feel more confident. Because of her, I feel like I’m actually learning and improving every day.
She is also an easy-going person, which makes her class fun and relaxing. She has a good sense of humor and doesn’t get mad over small mistakes. Instead of yelling, she talks to us calmly and respectfully, which makes us want to listen and do better. Her easy-going personality makes it easier to participate in class without feeling judged. We can be ourselves around her, and that makes a big difference in how much we enjoy being in her classroom.
Overall, my teacher is awesome because she is kind, smart, and easy-going, and she truly cares about her students. She makes me excited to come to class and helps me feel more confident in myself and my work. She supports us not just with schoolwork, but also by checking in on how we’re doing personally. I’m really grateful to have a teacher like her, and I think she deserves to be recognized for everything she does for her students
