Awesome is an understatement when I think of Ms. LaKesha Mims. Exceptional, Phenomenal, Considerate, Caring, and above all Excellent!!! She goes far and beyond to make sure all the students are properly prepared and ready for class. Ms. Mims always communicates with the parents concerning her students . If not by phone or email she will visit the home to make sure communication is kept open. Ms. Mims makes coming to class Funny, and exciting! She teaches with enthusiasm and humor, that keeps all the students engaged and excited about learning. Her “Hands On” approach to all her lessons keeps students focused and motivated to learn and looking forward to coming to school. The students always express their Love and respect for Ms. Mims by showering her with gifts, writing letters of appreciation, and surprising her with special presentations geared to boost her confidence as the Special Teacher we Love! Ms. Mims strives to make sure all her students leave her Kindergarten Class with the confidence and determination that you are capable, confident, and smart to achieve your goals. She instills in her students to never second guess yourself! You are in charge of yourself to excel and with her help she was going to make sure those goals are achieved. That surly made the students feel they can do ANYTHING!! Ms. Mims supported the students both inside and outside the classroom by allowing the students to come to her with their problems be it personal or academic! She always had a way of making sure the problem was solved so we were all feeling better. She also had a fantastic rapport with the parents. Assuring them that their student was in good hands and whenever they needed to reach out to her she would be available. Ms. Mims I feel is the Perfect Model of what a Teacher should be. Supportive, Sensitive, Caring, and most of all Positive and Professional!!!
