Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
KATIE MOSER
ALEX SANGER PREPARATORY SCHOOL

STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

Ms. Moser has a way of making 8th-grade science feel less like a school subject and more like a daily exploration. Whether she’s turning a complex chemical reaction into a high-energy demonstration or linking a physics law to something we actually care about, her classroom is never boring. She has this unique spark that makes even the most difficult concepts click, usually because she’s more interested in helping us understand the "why" than just having us memorize a textbook. Beyond the lesson plans, she’s the kind of teacher who truly sees her students. Ms. Moser treats us like capable young scientists, giving us the space to ask weird questions and make mistakes during labs. Her patience is legendary, and she always seems to know when someone needs an extra boost of confidence or a bit of humor to get through a tough Tuesday. She doesn’t just teach science; she builds a community where everyone feels smart enough to participate. As we get ready to head to high school, it’s clear that Ms. Moser’s impact goes way beyond the grading period. She taught us how to think critically, stay curious about the world, and approach problems with a steady hand. She’s the type of mentor you remember years later because she made you feel like your ideas actually mattered. 8th grade wouldn’t have been the same without her energy and her genuine belief in every student who walked through her door.
