My teacher was awesome because in 4th grade when I had her she made me feel accepted. I am biracial and had several racially motivated incidents and she always made be feel safe. Her room was inclusive and I did not feel like an outsider in her classroom. Also, when my mom was diagnosed with her illness and I needed support she would schedule weekly lunches with me for check-ins. She also made projects fun and I love reading because of her reading lessons she does in class. She made me feel like math was not overwhelming and I still keep in contact with her today because she has been so impactful in my life.
