Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
JOSHUA WOOFTER
ELDORADO HIGH SCHOOL

STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

I'll admit--I haven't known Mr. Woofter for as I would have liked, but in just a few he has been one of the main reasons that I show up to school so consistently. He goes out of his way to keep his students entertained with games, activities, and even sometimes shows (Sorry Mr. Woofter :D). Mr. Woofter has a glowing energy that just feels very welcoming to be around. He also builds special connections with each of his students. Whether it be with fist bumps, nicknames, or joking with me about not buying a Christmas tree for the classroom, Mr. Woofter goes out of his way to brighten his students' day and I'm very lucky to have him first thing in the morning. I know Mr. Woofter cares about me because he understands that not everyday is perfect. Some people will have bad days and need breaks and he shows support even on the worst of days. He helps students when struggling and keeps everyone in high spirits. To make me feel like a better and more confident student, he praises even the smallest of accomplishments showing that even the little things in life are important and can bring joy to someone's week. Outside of the classroom Mr. Woofter has supported fundraisers and expressed his belief in the ability for me to succeed. Overall, Mr. Woofter has received plenty of awards for his amazing presence. But to be honest with anyone reading this. I don't think anyone could think he's more deserving of a shout out than me. (Okay and maybe Ms. Murdock) Thank you Mr. Woofter for everything!
