Mr. Holmes is my 2nd period teacher and my SOAR teacher. Even though Math has always been my favorite subject, Mr. Holmes has made me start liking science more than I ever have before. He makes learning actually fun. Also, he often lets us have free periods that we can use to complete our work, and usually it's either once we're done with our work then we can have free time OR he gives us a choice between having free time the entire class or doing our work. He also gives us pencils or pencil lead whenever we need it, and from what I've seen, he has a strong friendship with a lot, if not most, of the people that I know. He also encourages everybody in my SOAR Group and classroom, including me, to try their best on the LEAP test(s) and get Mastery or Advanced or at least score higher than they did at the beginning of the year. (In other words, Un-sat people should try to get Approaching Basic or higher, people who are Approaching Basic should try to get Basic or higher, and so on.)
