Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
JOSEPH CHEESEBOUROUGH
NORTH CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
Mr. Cheesebourough is more than an Algebra teacher to many students. He is a friend, a mentor, a father figure, a motivator, and even a coach. Although he may not be a coach here at North Central, he has coached and mentored numerous athletes from all sides of the sport world. From football players to cheer leaders and even wrestlers. He has always made every person who walks in his room welcomed and loved regardless of their backstory or baggage they may carry. He is single-handedly the kindest teacher I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Many students that no longer have him, including myself, still take a few minutes out of their day to check on him because they all know that they will leave that classroom with a little bit of wisdom and a smile on their face. Mr. Cheese is an amazing person and should never be taken for granted because he has done a lot of things most teachers won't do. A trait that has always stuck out to me is the fact that he takes the time to get to know his students and he offers a listening ear even if he himself is feeling low. Since day one he has cared for his students and has encouraged them to strive for better. Never asking for things in return besides respect and love. Speaking of which, he has been one of the many teachers that has taught our upcoming young men to grow into caring, honest, well rounded gentlemen that know how to navigate the world with class and poise. Although I may be a young woman myself, he has never failed to make me feel confident and wipe my tears when it feels like I am carrying the world on my shoulders. He inspires, motivates, and has a captivating energy that anyone could recognize from miles away. I will never forget him and all the things he has done for me. And I will never forget how much of a father figure he has been for me all these years.
