Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
JESSICA PLAMBECK
FAISS MIDDLE SCHOOL
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
Mrs. Plambeck honestly saved my life. I was getting cyberbullied and the environment around me was toxic towards me, and it hurt me so much. I ran to Mrs. Plambecks room and she opened it with open arms and hugged me right then and there. She held me tight and told me to talk to her, and I never felt so much more secure in school than I did with her. I ran to Mrs. Plambeck because every-time I think of someone who would be like a mother to me, I always thought of Mrs. Plambeck. She was so gentle with me and especially with our class, which can be really rowdy, especially when she came back after pregnancy. Mrs. Plambeck listened to me when I opened up about being bullied, and held me up when I expressed how hurt I was. She checked on me constantly and made seat arrangements so I was away from them. I’m not worried about winning this contest, I’m just happy to write about the one teacher who got me through the toughest time of my life. Mrs. Plambeck is like a mom to me and I hope her kids know how lucky they are to have her as a mom. She makes her learning environment fun and safe, an offers help all the time, making sure we understand the curricular. She never yells at us or judges us, except she opens up to us and lets us open up to her. I love Mrs. Plambeck so much and she helped me escape the reality of 8th grade.
