Ms. Winford is an awesome teacher because she makes even the most challenging topics in chemistry and AP Biology feel interesting and approachable. She brings a lot of energy to class and explains things in ways that actually make sense, which makes me excited to come in and learn. She often connects lessons to real-life situations or uses examples that stick with you, so it doesn’t just feel like memorizing—it feels meaningful. One of the things that really stands out is how much she cares about her students. She’s always willing to take extra time to help, whether it’s answering questions after class, reviewing material, or just checking in to see how you’re doing. She creates a classroom environment where it feels okay to ask questions and make mistakes, which makes a big difference in building confidence. Ms. Winford also pushes me to be a better student by encouraging me to think critically and not give up when something is difficult. She believes in her students and reminds us that we’re capable of more than we think, which has helped me become more confident in my abilities. Outside of just academics, she’s supportive and understanding. She recognizes that students have lives beyond school and shows empathy when things get tough. Knowing that she genuinely cares makes it easier to stay motivated and do my best. Overall, she’s made a big impact on me not just as a student, but as a person, and I’m really grateful to have her as my teacher.
