Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
JENNIFER MARSH
EASTWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL

STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

Middle School has not been easy for our son, who not only struggles with ADHD, but also was not well prepared for the transition from elementary school to middle school. Every day has been quite a challenge to keep Henry on track. And I know that his ADHD has made it extra hard to stay focused every day, and has felt overwhelming to not just him, but his dad and I, trying to keep him caught up.. With all that said, I wanted to acknowledge the amazing job his seventh grade math teacher, Jennifer Marsh, has done! Not only for Henry, but for his dad and me! From the moment we reached out to the school about Henry’s progress, Ms. Marsh has been right there all along the way! She sat in on meetings when we set up his 504 and provided input on how she can help! What makes her stand out above the rest of the excellent teachers , is her genuine care for her students success! She has been incredibly informative and helpful when communicating what is happening during class and how we can Help support our kids along the way. And when we mentioned privately on how our son’s ADHD is making schoolwork very difficult, she shared with us that she also struggled with ADHD as a young student! When she started explaining how she became so organized over time out of necessity, it made our son feel like she understood him! She is not only providing the tools and organizational skills he needs to succeed, she enthusiastically cheers him on when he achieve his goals! (She once called me , in the middle of class, with excitement about how Henry achieved a great score on a test!) I’m honoring her today because she is everything I want my son to grow up to be! ADHD never stood in her way of achieving her goals! She’s teaching him that organization and hard work will make him as successful as he wants to be, and EVERYTHING is possible!
