Every morning when I wake up, the first thing I say to Joan is, "Get up—let's go to school!" It isn't easy for him; the simple fact that he has a medical condition makes it that much harder. I know it isn't easy for his teachers either, but my heart fills with joy because I know that he is safe and sound in his classroom—that he is deeply loved, and that everything they do is for his own good, to ensure he has a wonderful future.
