Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
JASON JACKSON
NORTH CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
Although I'm not really a science person, Chemistry has consistently been my favorite class this year. The environment that Mr. Jackson creates in his classroom means that I'm always excited to go to class. This is especially true when I've had a bad day because I know that Chemistry will make me feel better.
I feel like I've learned so much this year, and I think that much of that has to do with Mr. Jackson's teaching style. I always feel like I'm having fun during his lessons, whether it's because we're going down a Wikipedia rabbit hole about scientists (I'll never forget Jacobus) or because he's telling us stories that whatever we're learning has reminded him of. I've been pleasantly surprised by the academic rigor of Chemistry (Gas Laws was the first time I was really academically challenged), and I've been grateful for all of the resources that Mr. Jackson has provided to help us succeed and that he always gives us room to ask questions without making us feel like we're dumb for doing so.
Overall, I'm so happy that I've had Mr. Jackson as a teacher this year, and I'm excited to have him again for AP next year. If you're reading this, then Thank You!
