Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
JAMES MOORE
ROBERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL

STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

My name is Allyssa Taylor, and I am an 8th-grade student at Roberson Middle School. Coming to Roberson was a part of the many goals I set for myself for the year. I prepared the whole summer to be the best student I could be for the school, but when I stepped foot into the building, it was a totally different ball game than I had imagined. There were a lot of people racing to find classes they'd never been to, tall giant like 8th graders who looked like they ran the building and staff members everywhere, as it were, the first day. Sure enough, I made it to lunch. Tired, legs burning, and an attitude that screamed tiredness carried me into my 4th period class, and there I saw Mr.Moore. Immediately upon walking in, the energy shifted. I felt like everything was worth it. He began talking and made every student feel seen. His classroom theme was very dope, and what he expected of us was more than exceedable. From that day on, I saw Mr.Moore as a very respectable and exceptional teacher and mentor. I appreciate him for showing me the greatness of learning and not just the cons.
