Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
JAMES MOORE
ROBERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL

STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

This year in social studies has been one of the most memorable years of my life, and a huge reason for that is my teacher, Mr. Moore. From the very first day of class, it was clear that he doesn’t just teach because it’s his job—he teaches because he truly cares about his students and loves what he does. Mr. Moore puts his whole heart and soul into every lesson. He makes history come alive in a way that no textbook ever could. He doesn’t just want us to memorize dates or names; he wants us to understand the stories behind them, to see how the past shapes our lives today. He always takes the time to explain things in ways that make sense, even if it means staying after class or helping students one-on-one. What I admire most about him is how much he believes in us. He encourages us to think for ourselves, ask questions, and be curious. He celebrates our successes, and when we struggle, he doesn’t give up on us. You can see the passion in his eyes when he talks about history, and it makes you want to care about it too. Mr. Moore has taught me more than just social studies this year. He has taught me the value of hard work, the importance of kindness, and how one person’s dedication can make a huge difference in the lives of others. I will always be grateful for the way he has inspired me, challenged me, and made me feel capable of more than I ever thought possible. He is not just a teacher—he is a mentor, a guide, and a truly amazing human being. I hope everyone gets the chance to have a teacher like him, because he doesn’t just teach lessons; he changes lives.
