Ms. Vargas is an absolutely phenomenal mariachi teacher because she brings authentic passion and high standards to every rehearsal, transforming our guitarron section into a confident, tight-knit foundation for the ensemble. She makes class exciting by finding the perfect balance between intense technical training and fun, upbeat repertoire, ensuring we feel challenged yet successful. Ms. Vargas cares deeply about her students, often taking time before or after class to check in, or using humor to lighten the mood when we are stressed, showing she sees us as individuals rather than just musicians. She has significantly boosted my confidence by teaching me how to "own" the guitarron's rhythm and supporting my growth through constant, positive feedback. Outside the classroom, Ms. Vargas supports us by going to the extra mile. Whether it is organizing community performances, helping with our attire, or encouraging us to carry on the mariachi tradition with pride. Her dedication to our musical and personal development makes her incredibly deserving of this honor! I nominate Ms. Vargas!!!
