My AVID teacher, Ms. Ricardo, is awesome because she makes AVID feel important, exciting, and helpful for my future, and she never makes anyone feel bad for asking questions or needing extra help. She brings a lot of energy to our AVID class, uses tutorials, binder checks, Cornell notes, and college and career activities to keep us organized and focused, and always connects what we do to real goals like college and life after high school. She shows she cares by checking in on our grades, helping us with other classes, listening when we’re stressed, and always reminding us that we’re capable of more than we think. She makes me a better and more confident student by pushing me to stay organized, speak up in tutorials, ask questions, and take my education seriously. Inside and outside the classroom, she supports me by helping me with assignments, giving advice about my future, and constantly encouraging me to believe in myself and not give up on my dreams.
