STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

In fifth grade last year I was going through a really hard time with a relationship with a very toxic and controlling person , so I was in and out of the counselor's office because of that but she was patient and she knew what I wanted my mom to know and what not. She also gave me a book, Wonder, she said that book reminded her of me because me and the character, Auggie, both felt judged and how others opinions matter more than our own, and when I read the book, I understood what she meant. Then we started getting closer and she felt like a second home to me, to this day I keep that book in my backpack in case I start missing her reading it reminds me how much she would love how the new me is now and how much of a better person I am because of her and her never giving up on a struggling child who really needed support during the toughest time of her love, she will forever be my favorite teacher and I'll love and cherish the moments and memories we spent together and apart.
