ERIC SPRAGUE
NORTH CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

Mr. Sprague has made computer science one of the most enjoyable classes I've taken. He is a very laid back a chill teacher, which creates a comfortable learning environment where students don't feel afraid to ask questions or make mistakes while learning something new. Instead of making the class stressful, he makes it feel welcoming and engaging. What makes Mr. Sprague awesome is the way he teaches while still keeping the class relaxed. Coding can be frustrating sometimes when things don't work, but he is always patient and willing to help us figure things out step by step. He encourages us to think through problems instead of just giving us the answer, which helps us actually understand how programming works. He also makes class enjoyable because he lets us explore and experiment with coding. Instead of feeling like we are just completing assignments, it feels like we are building and creating things. That makes me excited to come to class and discover what will actually work. Mr. Sprague shows that he cares about his students by being approachable and supportive. If someone is stuck on a problem, he takes the time to help them understand it rather than rushing through the lesson. He creates an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. Because of his teaching style. I have become more confident in computer science. He encourages problem solving and independent thinking, which helps students grow. Teachers like Mr. Sprague make a big difference because they create a classroom where learning feels positive and motivating. I'm grateful to have a teacher who makes computer science enjoyable.
