Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
DOMINIQUE HENDERSON
RENEW DOLORES T. AARON ACADEMY
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
My nephew, Koi’Lee Shepard, has never attended school. His mom is a drug addict. I found him alone in the house. I enrolled him in Renew Dolores T Aaron. I was nervous and scared because I knew it was going to be a new environment, and I was worried about him adjusting. Koi’Lee started school in October. He couldn't hold a pencil or write his name. Ms.Henderson has made me feel very comfortable. Ms.Henderson truly has been a light in all of this madness. With Ms.Henderson’s patience and commitment to Koi’Lee’s growth, Koi’Lee is now able to hold a pencil, write his name, and, recently, Ms.Henderson updated me, Koi’Lee can now, write his weekly spelling words. I feel comfortable sending Koi’Lee to school because I know Ms.Henderson is going to encourage him and help him grow.
