STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

Where do I beginning. Mrs. Casas has gone above and beyond for not only my student but all her students, even for the students that have never been part of her class. My daughter had a different teacher the first six weeks of this school year, and towards the end of that first six weeks, my daughter who was so excited to get back to school, was coming home not wanting to go back. The only time she was coming home excited is when she would have to be moved to another class because her teacher was out and she always ended up with Mrs. Casas. And almost instantly when she was moved to Mrs. Casas class officially, her light came back. And not only was her enthusiasm back, she was starting to write words and read words with in a few days of fully being part of her class. She worked extremely hard and got sponsors to help out with the Christmas party that not only provided food for an entire two classes, each student must of left with 3-5 gifts. She stays in constant communication with the parents of her students, we receive almost daily if not weekly updates on different topics they may be learning, fun activities they do and sometimes just even silly faces our kids make. I have had another mom tell me how Mrs. Casas makes it to at least 1 basketball game of her son season every year since he was in kindergarten and he has never been one of her students, just another student in the hallway. She goes above and beyond for all students, all while being a mother on her own outside of teaching. Not everyone can do that. Not a lot of people would do that. But she does, she shows up, everyday, with a smile on her face and energy to handle all 17 of our future leaders.
