Mrs. Schmitt is a really respectful, kind, honest, understanding teacher/coach. When I was at my lowest, he was there for me. When my grades were too low to play soccer, he helped me talk to my teachers to keep me in line to play. When I didn't have gear, he would lend me some. When I was hungry and didn't have anything to eat, he would share his apple slices. When I got caught smoking, he gave me a second chance. When I was about to get in trouble, he would make sure I stayed out of it. But when I got in a fight and threw away everything I had to lose including getting kicked off the team, he tried to see why I did what I did and helped me find other teams I could join and play because he saw my potential. He motivated me to be the better self I am today and prevented me from doing something I could never come back from and he didn't even know it. Mrs. Schmitt is the greatest teacher,coach,and mentor of many kids at Brinley and he deserves better for the way people talk about him and treat him. I wish I could change the choices I made just to spend more time with him because he plays a father,mentor,and a close homie role for me and many others.
