As a club member of Academic Competition Club, Mr. Cook has been supporting every student in the club. During times when I or another student had been emotional or stressed, he helped us calm down. He often tells us interesting experiences he had over his life, while ensuring that club time was mostly spent on preparing for competitions like Academic Decathlon, Quiz Bowl, and UIL. He always tries to get funding for the competition while also using his own money to help pay for some expenses, and other special occasions like last-day-of-the-semester club party. He is the reason why I have been in the same club for almost 3 years now, and why I will miss the Academic Competition Club.
