I think Mrs. De La Torre is an awesome teacher because she cares about her students. She makes them feel safe and welcomed in class. She listens to them and understands their stories. She makes learning fun and helps students speak Spanish using creative, real-world lessons. Mrs. De La Torre makes me excited to go to her class because while we do work she lets us get headphones and play music and we sometimes do activity and when we are done with everything we get to play games and to get ready for a test we play Blooket quiz game and makes learning easier for me to understand better at science. Mrs. De La Torre shows she cares by making me feel safe, valued, and excited to learn, often by listening closely to my ideas, asking about my life outside school, and helping me when i struggle. She takes time to understand me as an individual, not just a student, and creates a welcome. My teacher does many special things to help me become a better and more confident student. First, she creates a safe and cozy place where it is okay to make mistakes, because mistakes help my brain grow and learn. she teaches me to use the word "yet," which means if you cannot do something, you just cannot do it yet. My teacher supports me in many ways to help me succeed. Inside the classroom, she makes learning fun, explains hard topics in simple ways, and always takes the time to help me when I am stuck on an assignment. They also make me feel safe and happy by encouraging me to do my best and letting me know that making mistakes is part of learning.
