Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
CLAUDIA ZIMMER
ROBERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
Green and Purple
Have you ever thought of who your favorite teacher is? My favorite teacher is someone who I’ve had since the 6th grade, and I am currently in the 8th grade. Her favorite colors are purple and green. She has the wall behind her desk covered in purple and green little trinkets. She is my favorite teacher, even though some people might not like her or think she’s weird. Her name is Ms. Zimmer, and she is my agriculture teacher.
Something that I find awesome about her is that she always has a positive attitude, even if she wasn’t having the best day or if she was tired. I always look forward to her class because I get excited knowing that she’s waiting for me at the door, ready to give me a hug and say, “Hola chica”. I’ve gotten very close to her through my middle school experience and through being a part of the FFA Organization. I also get excited because Ms. Zimmer has various animals in her class, so she lets me take them out of their cages since she knows I am responsible with them.
Ms. Zimmer shows me how much she cares about me by supporting me in anything I choose to do, being very understanding of any and every situation I have been in, and helping me. She helped me and listened to me when I had no one to turn to. She always gives people second chances and tries to put herself in other people’s shoes to understand where they are coming from. She cares deeply about me; Ms. Zimmer always checks up on me and asks me if I’m okay. She always tells me about her day, and I love that because it means that she trusts me.
Ms. Zimmer has helped me in many ways; she is very wise, so she always listens to my problems and gives me advice. She also helps me with high school by giving me tips and answering my questions. A specific way Ms. Zimmer has supported me in school is whenever I would draw something and show her, she would tell me how beautiful it looked and to keep drawing because she knew how important it was to me. A specific way she has supported me out of school was when I participated in the FFA Livestock Show in the 7th grade; Ms. Zimmer encouraged me throughout the show and told me to have fun.
In conclusion, my agriculture teacher, Ms. Zimmer, is my favorite teacher. There are so many other reasons I could write about, but it wouldn’t be an essay anymore if I did. Ms. Zimmer cares about me as a gardener cares for their hibiscus flowers. She has taught me a lot about agriculture, life, and other things, which I’m very grateful for. I am very thankful to have Ms. Zimmer in my life.
