For six remarkable years, Mrs. Vargas has been far more than a teacher to my two daughters — she has been a mentor, a leader, and a constant source of encouragement in their lives. Through the COAST Program at Cutler Bay Middle School in Miami, Mrs. Vargas brings learning to life. She is the first to step in alongside her students during science experiments, the first on the water during kayaking trips, and the one who shows children that education is something to be experienced, not just taught. Her passion for environmental stewardship extends beyond the classroom through coastal cleanups, neighborhood gardening, and community activities that inspire young people to care for and protect the world around them. As a parent, trust is everything. Mrs. Vargas is someone I have trusted wholeheartedly with both of my daughters. She has consistently encouraged them to strive for excellence, supported them through challenges, and believed in their potential every step of the way. Mrs. Vargas gives selflessly of her time, energy, and heart. She is the kind of educator who would give the shirt off her back to ensure her students succeed. Her impact reaches far beyond academics — she is shaping compassionate, confident, and capable young individuals. Our family is deeply grateful for the lasting difference she has made in our daughters’ lives.
