I believe Mrs. Ramirez is deserving of the teacher’s award because she is not only there for her students, she is present for the parents. Mrs Ramirez has made it clear that her goal as an educator isn’t just to come in and prepare the children for the following year, but also make sure each and every child has a safe space, to express themselves freely, be loved, and enjoy themselves every single day. The first impression of Mrs. Ramirez that validated this fat was on the first day of school when my husband and I witnessed so many children from previous years go out of their way to show up for quick hugs and words of encouragement. Expressing so much love and nostalgia for her and the atmosphere of her classroom.
