Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
CHRISTOPHER GEISER
WESTERN HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY
I've had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Geiser for all 4 years of my high school career. In my freshman year, I took his Career Education class where I first understood his passion for teaching unrivaled by any teacher. He later admitted that he knew from the beginning that his class was a 'filler' class that nobody really needed, but he still put his best foot forward to make the class as engaging and enjoyable as possible. After the summer leading into my 10th grade year, I stumbled across Mr. Geiser again, where he told me about the robotics club he was creating, so I joined and became the president of the club, where I attended weekly, enjoying every minute of it. Later on into the year, I founded the Dungeons and Dragons club with Mr. Geiser, which is something I am passionate about, and have enjoyed the fruits that this club has reaped for me. Then, at the start of my 11th grade year, I was placed into his AP Precalculus class. This class was one of my favorite classes that I've ever taken. Mr. Geiser was incredible as a teacher, putting in significantly more work than what most other teachers would, working for hours after school and hours into the night to create a good class for us. Without his teaching, I am not sure whether I could have passed the AP exam for that class, and made it into the AP Calculus AB class I am currently in.
