Anybody that works with students who have special deserves a special place in heaven. Although generally having smaller class sizes there is an abundance of obstacles that a teacher has to tackle for each individual student with their own needs. The load is heavy and many stay clear of that path. However, my son has been blessed with the most amazing teacher one could ever have. He came from an undesirable previous school location and transferred into Cathy’s class after spring break of his first grade year. He was not a happy person in school and an extremely hard time dealing with aggression, harming behaviors causing him to decline academically as well. Since coming into Cathy’s class she has been a godsend. From the first day the way she worked so hard to connect with my son and make him feel safe in school. As a parent I felt like I could finally take a breath while he was in school. She constantly communicates with me including me in everything that is happening with him. She provided him with resources and accommodations that he hadn’t received before but definitely needed. She has given me resources that I have used to further assist him into becoming more successful at home. She has always been in his corner and continues to be there for him. He loves her teacher, he loves school and he loves his friends. We have worked so hard as a team to get him where he is today still continuing to grow now in 4th grade. He has made such an improvement in every aspect and I owe so much of that to her. Words cannot describe how appreciative and grateful I am that he has Cathy as a teacher. He feels loved, accepted and wanted in her class. EVERYONE DESERVES A TEACHER LIKE MRS. LOZANO!
