I really appreciate Ms. Carla Horne as my teacher at Miami Jackson Senior High School. It’s honestly cool that she also taught my mom, and now I get to experience her class too. Knowing she was in the Army makes a lot of sense because she’s very disciplined and doesn’t play around, but that’s something that’s helped me take school more seriously. She’s been teaching at MJSH for over a decade, and you can tell because she really knows what she’s doing and how to handle students. She’s very dominant and outspoken, and even though she can be strict and call people out, it’s really because she wants us to do better. Over time, I’ve realized she actually cares a lot about her students, and she even has a fun side that makes class more enjoyable.
